Ateliers Jean Prouve France, c. 1950 bent and enameled steel, oak 56 w x 18 d x 30 h in (142 x 46 x 76 cm)
Designed by Prouve for the headquarters of the Electricite de France. The interior of this commission is dominated by the intense blue color seen in this example. The development of the leg structure in the bench traces its roots to Prouve's reclining chair of 1930. Prouve utilized the scissor structure in many of his furniture and architectural designs.
