A large collection elements from the Comprehensive Storage System (CSS) designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller in 1961.
The CSS system was first developed as a solution to a need for storage requested by Hugh DePree, the president of Herman Miller. Nelson refined the modular system based on regular units of 32 and 48 inches and developed numerous components to satisfy any storage need. This collection features nine uprights and eight bays (two bays shown), with some of the rarest components available.
