These chairs date from the first year of production when the perimeter wire of the seat frame was double instead of the later single wire in the mass-produced version.
The double wire detail is similar to the treatment on the wire Eames chair seat produced by Herman Miller and may have been altered for this reason. These chairs are in original condition and have been authenticated by the Knoll Museum in Pennsylvania.
