The Barcelona lounge chair underwent several design changes before its final incarnation that is currently produced by Knoll. These early examples by Josef Muller utilize a two-screw lap-joint corner detail at the perpendicular intersections of the seat and backrest, dating them to the late 1920s. literature: Mies van der Rohe: Architecture and Design in Stuttgart, Barcelona, Brno, and von Vegesack, ppg. 37-39
