French, probably Lyons, circa 1760. A fine Provincial Louis XV walnut commode having a three board top with thumb-molded serpentine edge over a conforming case with three long paneled drawers, each with scrolled rocaille carving and gilt bronze rococo escutcheons contained within heart shaped gadrooned leaves, above a scroll carved apron and raised on squat cabriole legs. Approximate height 38.6", width 52.12", depth 26.12".
