Cassina Italy, 1950 lithographic transfer-printed skai, ash, brass 22¼ w x 20½ d x 33 h in (57 x 52 x 84 cm)
Ponti designed the interior of the offices for Vembi-Burroughs, a calculator manufacturing company with locations in Turin and Genoa.
Using a yellow palette in Genoa and a blue palette in Turin, each space reflected a sense of luminosity and openness typical of Ponti's masterful architecture. The designs incorporate a gracefulness within their functionalist aesthetic. Works produced in collaboration with Piero Fornasetti appeared in both locations. literature: Gio Ponti: L'Arte Si Innamora Dell'Industria , La Pietra, pg. 194 illustrates in situ Gio Ponti: Interni Oggetti Disegni 1920-1976 , Falconi, pg. 243 Domus 1950-1954 , Volume III, Fiell, ppg. 270-275 illustrate in situ more
