In this example, Rietveld strengthened the seven dove-tail joint with five revealed nut and bolt connections visible in three holes to the seat and two holes to the back rest. This chair was made for J.B. Van Grunsven, an architect employed as head designer for Rietveld from 1950-1959. provenance: J.B.
