Missing Monuments and Buildings of Disaster are series of limited-edition miniature replicas of famous, often infamous, structures from around the world. The buildings replicated in these series have often been destroyed, were never completed or were the location of a tragic event – each a notorious place in popular culture (and occasionally in architectural history) and is as famous for its mode of destruction as for its original function or appearance. Lot includes thirty buildings; nineteen from Missing Monuments and eleven from Buildings of Disaster . Twenty-four examples retain original packaging and seventeen of the Missing Monuments include printed artist’s descriptions of the structure.
