This platform bed and the following occasional table were designed by Arthur Espenet Carpenter upon commission. Featuring richly-grained, solid rosewood and dovetail joinery, these works exhibit a minimal, restrained aesthetic, striking beauty and excellent craftsmanship. Sold with two upholstered mats (not shown). provenance: Acquired directly from the artist by the present owner in 1971
