1928 nickle-plated metal 6½ w x 3 d x 5½ h in (17 x 8 x 14 cm)
Inspired by Wright's work in theater design, the Circus Series of fantastical creatures grew out of papier-mache props Wright created for the stage. Cast in metal beginning in 1928 they mark Wright's first foray into decorative arts. The early and important bookends are extremely rare.
