A rare pre-production LCW.
The Eames' initial experiments of attaching the molded seat and back sections to the chair frame were solved by utilizing metal washers between separate rubber shockmounts. The proportions of the chair differed from the production models as well. Great care was taken by Charles and Ray in selecting finely grained plywood for the seat and back, emphasizing the inherent beauty of the material.
