Born in 1946, Yoichi Ohira became fascinated with glass blowing while a design student in Tokyo.
In 1973 he moved to Venice and upon graduation from the Accademia di Bella Arte worked at La Fucina degli Angeli. Since 1990 Ohira has worked as an independent designer with some of Murano’s finest blowers and his technical mastery of the art form is celebrated by collectors and museums throughout the world.
