American (likely Massachusetts), Mid 18th century (circa 1730-1750). Fine Queen Anne carved and figured mahogany bonnet top high chest of drawers highboy in two parts. The upper section with broken swan's neck pediment flanked at sides and middle by three corkscrew form finials with three short pull out drawers below (center with fan carved front) above four graduated pull out drawers with brass metal pulls and escutcheons. Lower section with long pull out drawer at top above three short pull out drawers (center with fan carved front) above a shaped apron with pendant finials. Highboy raised on four cabriole legs terminating on pad and disk feet. Height 86.25", width 39.6", depth 22.7". Provenance: Sotheby's New York: Fine Americana, October 10, 1998 as Lot 387 whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia.
