American, Late 18th/Early 19th century. Federal gilt wood wall mirror with rectangular looking glass surface under finely handled eglomise work panel depicting a village or homestead scene under two additional smaller fern and medallion eglomise decorated panels. Mirror with two thin fluted acanthus leaf capital columns at sides below molding with drop beads and topped with winged eagle perched on top and holding gold beaded swag strand. Height 53", width 21.5", depth 3.5". Provenance: Sotheby's New York: Important Americana, June 20, 1996 as Lot 333A whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia.
