Directoire Period Handpainted French Desk Hand-carved & handpainted desk w/cabinet side from the Directoire period and heavily decorated with French Revolution imagery and motifs; desk features a cream colored leather top and two bottom cabinets to left and right each with a drum motif and housing four drawers; desk also features a middle drawer decorated to front center with the year "1795" and two hidden compartments to left and right inside of drawer; side cabinet features a front facing cabinet door with arrow motif and keyhole as well as a desk facing cabinet door that reads "Unité et Indivisibilité de la République. Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité ou la Mort" surrounded by a foliate motif and the French flag (underneath is the French Revolution rooster and a cannon); desk facing cabinet also features a keyhole and houses three shelves; left side of desk features an angel surrounded by a foliate frame; includes chair with matching cream colored leather upholstery and nail head trim on a green painted wood frame; chair measures approximately 36-3/4" tall to top of back, 19-1/2" tall to top of seat, 19" wide, and 16-1/2" deep and the desk measures approximately 30" tall to top of desk, 77" tall to top of cabinet, 66-1/2" wide, and
