Reinhold Merkelbach stein; German, late 19th century; mold no. 679; reads "Froh beim Bier, das loben wir", which roughly translates to "Glad the beer that we praise", on a scroll that flits around a scene of a joker serving food, a man holding two large steins, and a woman holding a large stein and a small cup all against a red background with white foliate accents throughout; features a mythological scene encircling the middle of the pewter lid and a facial depiction to thumblift; marked to bottom with the RM logo as well as "Geschutzt" and "679"; measures approximately 10" tall to top of finial and 3-1/2" in diameter to opening; in Very Good condition with no noticeable chips or cracks.
