Oil on canvas painting depicting a bust portrait of a boy musician wearing a head scarf and red shirt with gold buttons and striped breastplate playing a stringed lute after the master's work. Unsigned. Work contained in a 17th century Italian wood frame with gilt scrolled foliate accents (frame with signs of worming). Verso with 55 painted on stretcher. According to the consignor, purchased in May of 1993 in Paris, France. Framed 41 inches x 34.25 inches. Unframed 32.25 inches x 26.25 inches. Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. Thomas V. and Mrs. Marie B. Patton, Atlanta, Georgia.
