Documentation provided by the consignor signifies the following information: Chinese spade money was used circa AD 14; this piece shows no date or city and is likely "amulet-money or made only to be put into graves; heavily encrusted with patina; has long life emblems on reverse; this piece appears to have been made around 1900 and never used as real money. Knife coin appears, from inscription, to have been made in Chi, a city-state in Shantung Province, China; this type dates to 686-260 B.C.; this piece is real money and shows use.
