Dominick & Haff (American (Newark and New York), Late 19th century). Circa 1880 sterling silver centerpiece with large oval bowl raised on an oval foot with three arm candelabra mounts on scrolled handles at end of basin. Bowl form with acanthus leaf, floral, banded, and shell motif throughout. Removable candelabra arms with scroll foliate, engraved lappet and shell decoration. Large basin marked on bottom with "STERLING" as well as maker's marks. Height 8", width (across candle holder mounts) 38.25", depth 15.5". Total weight approximately 157.6 troy ounces. Provenance: According to the consignor Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, lot acquired from Sotheby's New York in the late 1990s.
