The original set of these English Regency chairs (circa 1800), was owned by Governor Robert Francis Withers Alston, the second owner of the Nathaniel Russell House in Charleston, SC. The back features four delicately intertwined circles. Below, a cane seat rests on saber legs with ring detailing. Standard mahogany finish with gilt detailing. Height of back: 32-3/4". Width: 20" at front of chair. Seat depth: 19-1/4". Height of seat from floor: 16". All measurements are an approximation. Good condition, wear consistent with age and usage.
