ARTS AND CRAFTS Eight-legged sideboard with chamfered back, plate rail, four drawers, and heavy copper strap hardware on two cabinet doors. (A period variation of the earliest Gustav Stickley eight-legged sideboard illustrated in the November, 1901 issue of the Craftsman Magazine. Expert opinions have differed as to whether this is a prototype made by Gustav Stickley, or an alternative version made by Onondaga Shops or Tobey. Another example of this form has never surfaced to the best of our knowledge, and it is a massive and well-made piece). Unsigned. 40 1/2" (to top), 50 1/4" x 61" x 23"
