Inscribed and signed on the flyleaf: “To my friend “Doug” [Henning] a talented and most knowledgeable performer and a charming person in every respect. Sincerely, Dai Vernon 1972.” The rear pastedown bears the stamp of Doug Henning’s World of Magic. Laid in is a Vernon business card inscribed and signed on the verso, in Vernon’s hand: “To my dear friend Doug Henning wishing him many years of marital bliss. Most sincerely, Dai Vernon.”
