The first section in this book of miscellany – Anecdotes – contains the account of a learned spaniel exhibited at York, and of Doctor Mantaccini, a “French Quack” who claimed to perform resurrections. Other chapters include Antiquities, Arithmetic, Biographical Notes (containing a report on the Paisley Witches), Magic Squares, and Genealogical Paradoxes.
