Magic Cauldron. F. William Keuthe, Jr. N2 (Feb. 1962) – N64 (Jun. 1977). Complete file, including all supplements and indexes. Being number 11 from the original edition of 50 subscriptions. In a custom drop spine box, spine gilt stamped. The cover of V1 N1 is inscribed and signed to Phil Thomas, “For my oldest friend in magic – Bill Keuthe.“ Alfredson/Daily 3650. For the amusement of the editor, V1 N1 was issued after V1 N3, a fact that “came as a surprise to most” readers. Only one recipient voiced suspicion. Keuthe went on to explain: “The reason for my little hoax was simple. I decided to put out a magazine for collectors, but I was not sure what kind of reception it would get. I numbered the first issue number two, in the belief that I would get more of a response and be better able to judge whether the magazine’s presence would be warranted.” The response was sufficiently gratifying, and the quarterly continued for another 15 years.
