Thurston, Howard. One-page TLS to Clyde Powers regarding throw-out cards. Dated Nov. 18, 1913, Thurston writes, “Would your company care to furnish me with throw-away cards similar to the enclosed. It would be a great add for you. We give a couple of hundred away each Saturday to boys who come on the stage, who are interested in magic.” On Thurston’s engraved stationery by Strobridge Litho. Co., New York. Signature likely secretarial. Accompanied by a colored Thurston throw-out card. Powers managed the stage at the Hippodrome Theatre, New York, and also operated a branch of the Mysto Magic Co. on Broadway. It was in his shop that Dai Vernon first met Dr. Elliott and Harry Kellar.
