[Houdini, Harry] Houdini’s Signed Copy of Hoyle’s Treatise on Whist. London: T. Osborne, 1750. Contemporary well-worn marbled boards, rebacked in a gilt-stamped leather spine. Signed by Houdini on the front pastedown, dated June 14, 1920, with Houdini’s shorthand notation on the location of its purchase. Inscribed and signed on the flyleaf by Rex Townsend, Dec. 1928, with the notation “from the Harry Houdini Collection” in Townsend’s hand. Signed by Hoyle and Osborne on the Advertisement page. 12mo. Deposits in front gutter not affecting signatures, otherwise good.
