The Spider. Fox Pictures, Fox Film Corporation, 1931. Five lobby cards, including the Title card, for this, the first of the three films made by Edmund Lowe in which he appears as a magician. As Chatrand the Magician, later of Chandu fame, Lowe is expected to solve a crime of murder in the theatre in which he was giving a performance with his assistant, Lois Moran, playing the role of a mentalist. Extremely scarce group; no others are known to the market. A-.
