Alexander, Herr (Alexander Heinberger). Brass souvenir medallion. The obverse bears a portrait of Herr Alexander and his name, the reverse the following text: "Presented to Herr Alexander as a testimony of esteem from his friends in New York 1847." Light wear, and with a hole cleanly drilled through just above Alexander's head. MT007. Scarce. Alexander's is one of the earliest magic advertising token known, struck two years before J.H. Anderson produced his own advertising medals/coins.
