Signed and twice inscribed by Selbit to T. Nelson Downs. Selbit's lengthy inscription in verse reads, "An ode to his Majesty!"/King Coin Vanishes! But the Coin King/ Remains ignoring times' past trav'ling wing;/long may he live! I shall forever sing/For like true coin he's possessed of sterling ring.
