Nest of Boxes. After Martinka & Co., ca. 1915. Set of six nesting boxes. After vanishing a watch or ring, the magician reproduces the object from the smallest of the six boxes, which have been locked together from the outset of the performance. Each box finely crafted from walnut, the largest bound with metal and sitting on clawed feet, the largest box measuring 11 ¼ x 10 x 9". Smallest box is bottomless; a loading table is required to work the effect. Interior of each lid painted, and exterior of largest box painted gold; two boxes chipped, worn and cracked, but still in good condition.
