Maskelyne & Cooke. Pictorial admission ticket to Egyptian Hall. 5 x 3", black ink on bright orange/yellow stock. The obverse bears text regarding Egyptian Hall, Psycho, etc. The reverse bills and illustrates Zoë, "Mr. Maskelyne's new sketching automaton [which] has become the topic of conversation at all social gatherings…" Good condition. Rare. Never one to forego bombast, the ticket claims Egyptian Hall to be "The greatest and most legitimate attraction of all London Amusements…" Tickets at Egyptian Hall were dispensed by a machine in the box office; no attendant was present.
