De Kolta, Buatier (Joseph Buatier). Card and Watch Mirror owned by Buatier de Kolta. The magician borrows a watch and has a card chosen from the pack. The card and watch vanish. Drawing attention to an oval mirror in a gilt frame, the magician fires his pistol at the mirror, which shatters. On the sound of two more shots, the missing watch and selected card appear in the frame, amidst the shattered glass. Mirror sits on a high brass base, overall dimensions being 18 ½ x 6 ½". Accompanied by a typed note from Robert Lund to Jay Marshall dated October 2, 1961, which states, "Dear Jasper: According to the late Albert Foster Munroe [Lund's mentor and friend], this thing belonged to Buatier De Kolta. I do not have the time, patience, tools or mechanical knowledge to figure it out and repair it. If you don't want it, throw it away." Not in working order and generally poor condition; all parts appear to be present, but in need of professional restoration.
