Die Box. German, ca. 1915. Handsome wooden box lacquered in black for the classic "sucker" effect in which a large wooden die vanishes from the box's interior after much comedy by-play, only to reappear elsewhere. Unusual double-door-type feature built in to box and die. Die measures 3 ¾" square. Also included is a matching collapsible die made of cloth and wood, possibly for later reproduction, in fair condition. Minor chips to finish of box, otherwise good condition.
