76: DeBierre's Egg Bag

DeBierre, Arnold. Net Corner Egg Bag. Black velour bag with mesh corner. Owned and used by Arnold DeBierre, the bag passed from him to Leslie Barry. Barry presented the bag to Ali Bongo, who in turn gave it to Jay Marshall. 9 ½ x 8 ½". Worn as expected, but good condition. DeBierre's repertoire included many tricks involving complicated and costly apparatus (built by John Martin and others). Despite this, throughout his career, one staple in his program was the venerable Egg Bag, which required little by way of props, but much by way of personality and presentation, two things DeBierre, by all reports, possessed in spades. Accompanied by a note in Jay Marshall's hand describing the provenance of the bag.
