Letterpress challenge handbill (5 1/8 x 8”) heralding “the famous handcuff king” “direct from a Record Success at the London Hippodrome” who “will be presented by the ‘Daily Mirror’ with a Solid Silver Manacle.” Otherwise known as the “Mirror Cuffs” that in Life of a Versatile Artist were asserted to have taken five years to manufacture by a Birmingham blacksmith so that “no mortal man could pick” it. Laid down on linen. With minor browning, tiny marginal loss at upper right.
