Chinese, late 19th/ early 20th century Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). A Chinese export porcelain low bowl in the Persian taste with cobalt blue underglaze hand painted decoration depicting male and female warrior figures to the central tondo, the man with a sword and the woman with a spear, standing in a lush landscape amid trees and blooming flowers just in front of a fence corner along lower edge, the cavetto with a band of white chrysanthemum blossoms on stem to a blue ground, and the wide ruyi lotus shaped rim with a band of stylized waves, the exterior cavetto with blue peony blossoms on vine to a white ground. Unmarked. Approximate height 3.5", diameter 18.25".
