French, fourth quarter 19th century. Slate and malachite inlaid mantle clock, the drumhead with black porcelain and malachite veneer inlaid dial having a convex chapter ring with gilt Roman hour numerals, open moon hands and exposed Brocot open escapement, the dial signed Godeau MGNE Ste Genevieve 55 and striking on a bell, the mid section with beveled glass and brass door to view the two jar mercurial pendulum, flanked by scrolled supports on serpentine style plinth base. Approximate height 19.75", width 17.75", depth 6.12".
