Berks County, Pennsylvania painted pine dome lid box, attributed to Heinrich Bucher, ca. 1800 , decorated on all sides with houses, churches, and large tulips, 6 7/8" h., 13 1/8" w., 8 3/4" d. Of known Bucher boxes, this example with a dome lid and decoration on all four sides is one of the finest. Provenance: Mrs. Hunt, Orange Street, Lancaster; George W. Scott collection, Christie's, June 10, 1994, lot 530.
