Gerald Sinclair Hayward (active New York, Ontario / England, Russian Federation, Canada, 1845-1926), circa 1898. An oval portrait miniature watercolor on bone depicting Karl Reilley, esquire, of Oswego, New York, in profile wearing white shirt, coat and tie presented in a conforming brass frame. Portrait is signed and dated lower right 'Gerald S Hayward 1898' . Sitter identified in inscription, likely by the artist, on the backside of case. Approximate oval height 3.75", width 2.6". Provenance: Purportedly purchased at Sothebys in Belgravia December 11, 1975.
