Diminutive painted pine writing desk, late 19th c. , probably Virginia, with a lift lid and two drawers supported by square tapering legs, retaining its original brown surface with gilt pinstriping, the top and writing surface adorned with a spread winged eagle clutching an American flag, the underside of the lid with an oval landscape including a man fishing, 30" h., 27" w., 17 1/4" d. Provenance: Harry Hartman, 1964.
