Chinese, 20th century. A finely painted famille rose porcelain cong form vase, each of the four smooth sides with a hand painted figural scene depicting courtly and religious figures in a landscape, their faces painted highly naturalistically and their bodies handled more loosely, each panel upper left with two or three long lines of black calligraphic marks and the same two red seal marks. Underside with an iron red overglaze seal mark, likely an artist's signature or studio mark. Approximate height 12.75", 4.125" square.
