American, 19th century. Late Federal-style giltwood pier mirror with inset rectangular cornice suspending a row of small dangling spheres, with stylized egg and dart bordering, with carved relief depicting a urn with a bird of prey (likely eagle) finial , flanked on either side by eagle head handles whose necks span the trophy's length and come together at base to simulate a single draped acanthus or laurel leaf swag, urn supported on ball and claw feet on an incurvate base, urn ornament flanked by two relief circular rosette medallions, above rectangular looking glass flanked by gilt metal columnar stiles. Overall height approximately 28.125", width of cornice approximately 18", depth of cornice 3.125". Provenance: Property of the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
