Mason's Ironstone (English, founded 1813-1973), first half of 19th century. Collection of five handled jugs or pitchers with chinoiserie figural decoration hand painted on transfer decoration in "Red Scale Conversation" pattern with C scroll bordered medallions with courtly figures surrounded by red scales and other Asian style florals and patterning. Each marked on bottom with "MASON'S" above crown and banner with "PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA", dating the work to the first period of production, circa 1813-1848. Smallest pitcher approximate height 4.125". Largest pitcher approximate height 6.5".
