Bassett Furniture (American, founded 1902), circa 1960s. A mid century modern walnut veneer over solid wood dresser or credenza sideboard along with matching mirror from the "Mayan" line, having a rectangular top inset to each end with travertine type square tile over a central pair of doors opening to three pull out wardrobe drawers and flanked to each side by three vertically stacked drawers, all having each solid wood pulls carved with Mayan designs. Case is raised on a sculptural base with four slightly angled tapered legs. Mirror is rectilinear in form and headed with a panel carved with Mayan motif. Dresser is marked to interior left drawer for Bassett and stamped on the back 'B.162.40. 248, J-79-DR, MAYAN, WAL.' . Mirror is stamped on back 'B.162.40.211.241.221'. Approximate height of dresser 30", width 74", depth 19". Approximate height of mirror 45.5", width 28.4", depth 2".
