American, attributed to the Kilian Brothers (New York), circa 1880. Aesthetic movement ebonized and parcel gilt decorated plant or jardiniere stand having a rectangular top with canted edges over a line incised border raised on a central carved, fluted standard and flanked by similar slender columns to each side terminating on a incised block with carved flowerheads and drop finials on turned stem and stepped circular base mounted with carved flowerheads and having line incised decoration terminating on three incised and inward scrolled feet. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 36.25" width 17", depth 13" (top).
