Likely South American, 20th century. A hand stitched blanket or textile comprising layers of dark brown, sanguine red, and bone fabric, with a cruciform area at center formed of large repeated blocks of archaic humanoid figural motif accentuated by small layered patches of colorful fabric, the cruciform flanked to left and right by blocks of key patterning and other geometric patterns. Verso of textile with patch signed "maria herrera". Approximately 106" x 71".
