Continental, likely French, 19th century. Mantel clock composed of onyx throughout form with urn accent at top with gilt metal artichoke finial at top, urn with leaved swags with rosettes supported on a circular beaded foot on domed case with hinged glazed door with beaded border that opens to white dial with pierced metal cartouches revealing black Arabic numerals above front crest with urn with scrolled acanthus foliates and flowers, S-scroll handles on sides with drop rings with acanthus motif, plinth base with oval medallion at front, overall supported on outswept winged and scrolled legs at front, bracket feet at back. Movement marked with "C J" above anchor, additional stamped with "2208". Movement visible through pierced hinged circular door on back of case. Overall approximate height 17.8", width 12' , depth 6.3".
