American, 20th century. Hand carved and stained wood figural group depicting a feathered bird, possibly an egret, eagle or peacock with pointed beak at puffed chest, wings tucked at sides, tail feathers down, legs straight and claws perched on top of a ram's head with curled horns and wooly chest on a circular stacked base with banded decoration. Base separable from animal carvings. Unsigned. Overall approximate height 24.9", diameter of base 6.25". Provenance: Suttons Farm Antiques, Ltd., Chelsea, Michigan whereby acquired by the Estate of Dr. Woody and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia in 2000.
