C. M. Copeland (American (Georgia), 20th century). Group of five folk art carved wood figural sculptures by C.M. Copeland of Fitzgerald, Georgia comprising of a "Chattahochee River Duck"; a large "Swamp Bird with Plumes", a small "Swamp Bird with Plumes", and two modern figural sculptures recalling Classical female sculptures (one on wooden stand). Figures (with exception of figure on base) incised with "CMC" on bottom for artist, birds titled in pencil on bottom. Tallest bird approximate height 17.9". Smallest bird approximately height 8.5". Tallest female sculpture on base approximate height 13.4". Shorter female sculpture approximate height 10.5". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Benno & Babette Rothschild, Columbus, Georgia.
