Possibly Sheffield, first half 20th century. A two piece ovular silver-plated covered meat chafing dish comprising an ovular base raised on four paw feet with floral and foliate motif to knee and to loop handles at narrow ends under a reeded flat rim, with interior dish bearing draining canals and well, the base with twist off caps to interior and underside for hot water filling and disposal, the domed lid of undulating form with band of c-scrolls over an incurvate rim with eight paneled body bearing four fields of repousse scrolls and flowers (two with blank monogram medallions) surmounted by a loop form handle with molded scrolls and floral motif. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 14.5", width 26", depth 16.75".
